Hatchard’s casting was announced on 21 January , while the character has previously been mentioned by members of his on-screen family. It’s an honour to have the chance to share the camera with such talented actors and I can’t wait to get cracking and join the Carter family. On 21 August , it was announced that Hatchard had been axed by the new executive producer Sean O’Connor and would be leaving the soap after completing his three-year contract. When the Carters move to Albert Square, Lee is serving in the Army and speaks with his mother Linda using the internet. Three months later, his father Mick visits Stan Carter Timothy West , Mick’s grandfather but before he can reach the flat he is punched by an unknown youth, and afterwards Mick discloses to Max Branning Jake Wood that he believes that the man was his son, Lee. The family meet at the hospital. When Mick asks him why he punched him, he confirms that he was in Stan’s flat. Lee then has sex with Lucy Beale Hetti Bywater , however she insists it was a one-night stand.

He says that he found the sign “in the loft of one of my father’s chemist shops. I was probably no more than 14 years old when I came across it clearing out that roof space which had been untouched for decades. I’ve always been quite a strong athletic person, even as a child, so my dad always found good use for my energy and enthusiasm by giving me the tough dirty jobs nobody else wanted! It’s now been in my possession for 20 years.
He sold his chain almost a decade ago and it’s really the only thing I have to remind me of the shops, so sentimental value is quite high”. After spending so many years hidden away under soot and cobwebs I think it deserves it”! The age of the sign is uncertain, but likely dates to the s. Selo film was being marketed by Ilford from at least September see below and possibly earlier. By a range of Selo films was being marketed and its possibly significant that the sign refers to the plural ‘Selo Films’.
Recently March a lady named Saru has sent me a picture of a near identical sign, in apparently perfect condition. An image sent to me by Chris Eccles who lives in Canada. A Selo poster, measuring “a little over 6ins x 28ins” mm x mm.

Pregnant women who are referred to the Gynaecology and Day Assessment Unit, which first opened at Watford General Hospital seven years ago, have most commonly suffered from a pain or bleed. Others may have a positive pregnancy test but an initial scan found no signs of a foetus pregnancy of unknown location. Of all the women seen by the unit — about 2, in Watford and in Hemel Hempstead in — 30 per cent suffered a miscarriage.
About of them were treated conservatively without surgery , had medical management and had surgery. Just over 1, women, therefore, continued with their pregnancies, while 84 had ‘complete’ miscarriages and did not need further treatment. There were also 99 four per cent women with ectopic pregnancies last year:
September 17, , European Lung Foundation A quick and easy test for viral infections can reduce unnecessary antibiotic use and hospital admissions, according to new research presented to the European Respiratory Society International Congress today Monday. We were able to identify patients who had viral infections, lacked any evidence of bacterial infection, had a normal chest X-ray and only modest indicators of inflammation.
None of the 30 patients who avoided hospital admission and who were not prescribed antibiotics experienced adverse clinical outcomes, which is reassuring.
Readers of Mapping London, and Londoners in general, will be very familiar with the striking straight lines of the Tube Map. But you probably won’t have seen this map before, which employs the same kind of schematisation to show London’s now completely vanished tram and trolleybus network (there is a tram in south London now, but it wasn’t around when this map was created).
Watford MP officially opens state of the art scanner suite Published on: The suite housing cardiac MRI and cardiac CT scanners offers patients a unique service with access to advanced cardiac imaging technology in a refurbished setting much closer to home. The two year project to install the scanners at Watford General Hospital involved a major refurbishment in the radiology department, close collaboration between the radiology and cardiology services and the recruitment of new medical, radiographer, nursing and secretarial staff.
This is an impressive, state-of-the art facility and a really important development for cardiology locally. It was great to chat to staff and hear their enthusiasm for the new equipment and refurbished unit. Consultant cardiologist Niall Keenan said: We now have the very latest cardiac MRI and CT equipment locally, so that our patients can benefit from the cutting edge of non-invasive cardiac assessment.
Previously we were sending hundreds of patients to other centres mainly in London, but now we can do these scans in house, using our own highly skilled team. The imaging centre is beautifully laid out and the feedback from patients, relatives and staff has been excellent.
